Mechanical Team Manager (Aug 2015 – Current)                                                                             

  • Developed project cycle schedule for 2016 competition rover
  • Tracked system requirements derivation and design iteration
  • Coordinated points of interface between mechanical, electrical, and software teams

Drivetrain Team Leader (Aug 2013 – Aug 2015)

  • Developed rover concept from scratch, deriving requirements and generating evaluation criteria for potential concepts
  • Designed Suspension and Propulsion systems for 2014 and 2015 competition rover
  • Conducted structural analysis to verify all designs
  • Team ranked second worldwide at the 2014 URC, earning the highest score in terrain traversing

Space Exploration Technologies

Vehicle Engineering Intern – Falcon 9 Second Stage (Summer 2015)

  • Expedited flight-critical parts through production to ensure deadlines were met
  • Supported production by designing tooling to protect parts during fabrication
  • Developed and performed tests to qualify 2nd stage raceway lines for flight per SMC-S-016 standards
  • Designed camera system to operate inside of 2nd stage fuel tank during testing
    • System performed well, implemented 3x additional systems in two days
  • Supported Falcon 9 Flight-20 Anomaly Investigation
    • Performed testing that contributed to discovery of failure
  • Defined shipping configuration for Falcon 9 second stage rocket
    • Selected vehicle connection points for pressurization and monitoring
    • Accompanied stage on multiple trips to monitor and provide engineering support

  • Designed remote scrap cutting robot with interdisciplinary engineering team
  • Approved and implemented robot design included drawings, quotes, and estimates
